Now open to UK businesses: custom websites from $490 at launch prices

From today we take orders from anywhere in the UK, at our launch prices: from $490 with the domain, a year of hosting, SSL and SEO included. Here is how that compares with UK quotes.

From today, BestDealWebDesign takes orders from businesses anywhere in the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. UK clients get the same fixed prices as every other client, at our launch rates: a custom landing page for $490, a company website of up to seven pages for $890 and a custom WooCommerce shop for $1,490. Each comes with the domain for the first year, a year of hosting, an SSL certificate and the full SEO and GEO setup, at a price agreed in writing before any work starts.

Why the UK, and why now? Because the gap between what British small businesses are quoted for a website and what a good one needs to cost has become hard to ignore. Here are the numbers, with their sources.

One UK business in five still has no website

The UK had 5.7 million private-sector businesses at the start of 2025, and 99.85% of them were small or medium-sized, according to the government's business population estimates. The UK Business Data Survey 2026 found that 78% of businesses now have a website, up from 68% two years earlier. That still leaves more than one business in five without one, and in construction only 65% have a website. When a customer searches for what those businesses do, they find a competitor.

What a website costs in the UK in 2026

UK web design prices are surprisingly hard to find, because most agencies keep them off their websites. When Cellsior, a UK agency, surveyed 769 UK web design providers in July 2026, 59% of local agencies would not give a price until you got on a call. The prices that are published look like this. We have converted each one to US dollars, the currency of our price list, so you can compare like with like.

What you are buyingWhat UK providers charge in 2026In US dollars*Our launch price
A landing pageUnder £500 for a site of a few simple landing pages (Bark); freelance median £328 (Cellsior)Up to about $660; median about $440$490, with the domain, hosting and SSL for a year
A small-business websiteAgencies £2,000 to £7,000 (Bark). Medians for five pages: local agency £949, premium studio £2,950 (Cellsior)$2,650 to $9,290; medians about $1,260 and $3,910$890 for up to seven pages, domain, hosting and SSL included
An online shopAgencies £5,000 to £15,000 (Bark). Medians: local agency £1,999, premium studio £8,295 (Cellsior)$6,630 to $19,900; medians about $2,650 and $11,000$1,490 for a custom WooCommerce shop with up to 50 products loaded
A web designer's time£450 a day, the median UK contract rate (IT Jobs Watch)About $600 a dayOur whole company website costs less than two such days

* Converted at the Bank of England's spot rate for 23 September 2026, £1 = $1.3265, and rounded. UK figures are as each source publishes them. Cellsior's were captured on 10 July 2026 and exclude VAT, and the IT Jobs Watch rate is the median of UK contract adverts in the six months to 24 September 2026. Sources: Bark's 2026 web design price guide, Cellsior's UK web design pricing study and IT Jobs Watch.

A typical UK agency quote, and our launch price for the same website.

Against a typical UK agency quote, our company website costs between a third and a tenth of the price, $890 against $2,650 to $9,290, and our online shop less than a quarter. Even against the median local agency in Cellsior's study, which prices five pages and excludes VAT, our seven-page website costs about 30% less, with the domain, hosting and SSL included.

Is anything cheaper in the UK? Yes, and here is the catch

We would rather say it than have you find it: a UK freelancer's basic website can cost less than ours. Bark puts a basic small site from a freelancer at £300 to £1,000, and Cellsior found a median of £513, about $680, for five pages. If the lowest possible number is all that matters, that is where to look.

Before you compare, check what the number includes. GoDaddy's UK cost guide lists hosting, at about £110 a year, and a domain, at about £15, separately from the design fee, and search engine optimisation is usually quoted on top. Our prices include the domain and hosting for the first year, the SSL certificate, the SEO and GEO work and 30 days of free fixes after launch. And you deal with a company that has been building websites since 2002, under a fixed written quote.

Why we can charge so little

UK readers ask the obvious question first, so here is the answer. We run our own hosting company, MaiaHost, so a year of hosting costs us little. We have refined an efficient, AI-assisted way of building websites over 24 years. And there is no agency overhead: no account managers, no discovery workshops and no London office rent. You talk directly to the people who build your site. The launch prices are also a promotion while we fill our first project slots, and they can end at any time.

What every UK order includes

  • A design made for your business, not a template with your logo on it.
  • Your text polished in British English, so it reads as though it was written for UK customers, because it was.
  • Your domain for the first year, registered in your name. Already own a .co.uk? We connect your new website to it.
  • A year of hosting on MaiaHost's LiteSpeed servers, with daily backups and an SSL certificate.
  • SEO and GEO built in: page titles and descriptions, structured data with your UK address and phone number, a sitemap and speed targets, so that Google and AI assistants can find you and recommend you. Here is why GEO now matters more than classic SEO.
  • Google Business Profile and Search Console set up with the company website and online shop packages.
  • 30 days of free fixes after launch, and full ownership of the site, its content and the domain.

Questions people ask

Frequently asked

Can a studio outside the UK build my website?

Yes. Everything happens online: the brief, the fixed quote, the design approval, a private preview link and the launch. You talk to the people building your site, in English, by email, phone or video call, and we are two hours ahead of UK time all year round.

Why are your prices in US dollars?

Our price list is in US dollars and is the same for every client, wherever they are. Your written quote states the exact amount before you commit, and you can pay by card or bank transfer.

Can my website use a .co.uk domain?

Yes. If you already own a .co.uk, we connect your new website to it. If you do not have a domain yet, tell us the one you would like in your brief and your written quote will cover it.

Will my website be written in British English?

Yes. Polishing your text is part of every package, and for UK clients that means British spelling and phrasing throughout, with your UK address and phone number in the structured data that search engines and AI assistants read.

Do UK clients get the launch prices?

Yes. UK clients pay the same published launch prices as every other client: $490 for a landing page, $890 for a company website and $1,490 for an online shop. Launch pricing can end at any time; the price in your written quote is the price you pay.

Where will my website be hosted?

On MaiaHost's servers in the EU, run by our parent company, with daily backups, SSL and round-the-clock monitoring. The first year is included. After that the domain and hosting renew at MaiaHost's published rates, and you are free to move to any host you like.
