Tutoring center website design with session packages and tutors' diaries
Fifty-eight pages for a Queens tutoring center teaching 1st to 12th grade, one student and one tutor at a time, and the software such a center runs on: packages of sessions reserved online, a family page that books each session into the diary of a tutor who teaches that subject at that grade, a short note after every session, refunds worked out by New York City's own formula, and a staff desk. Nothing is paid on the website.
13 subject and test pages, each with its tutors and its prices

Demonstration site. Woodside Lesson Rooms, LLC is a fictional business invented for this demo — every phone number on it is literally 000-000-0000. The website itself is entirely real and built exactly as yours would be.
Why this design works for a tutoring center
Built for how your customers actually decide
A tutoring center's website is read by a parent who wants one thing: the right person, at the right time, for their child's subject and grade. So on this design every subject page lists who teaches it and at which grades, and the booking only ever offers those tutors. A family reserves a package of sessions, gets the link to its family page by e-mail, and books each session into a tutor's own diary, at the center or online, with the cancellation deadline printed beside it.
New York City treats a package of lessons as a contract for future services, so the product is shaped by its rule. Sessions never expire and a package never renews by itself. A family can cancel at any time and is refunded the sessions it has not used, minus at most 5% of the price or $50 for sessions missed, within ten days — and the site prints that exact notice and a worked example from the same formula the software uses. No sales tax applies to tutoring in New York, and the prices say so.
And the center claims only what it can. No score, grade or school place is promised; no tutor is called certified; the test names belong to their owners and carry their marks and footnotes; the center diagnoses nothing, does nobody's homework and is not child care. Twelve pages quote what tutoring centers commonly advertise — 'Raise your score 200 points, guaranteed!', 'Certified teachers', 'Use it or lose it' — and answer each with the rule and its source.
The subject chooses the tutor
Every tutor teaches a fixed list of subjects at fixed grades. The booking offers a family only the tutors who teach that subject at that child's grade, and only the times free in that tutor's own diary, with five minutes after each session for the note.
New York City's refund rule, built in
A package is a contract for future services in New York City, so a cancelled package refunds every unused session, minus at most 5% of the price or $50 for sessions missed. The site prints the city's notice word for word and a worked example, and the staff desk computes the same figure.
Test names that are not ours
The college admission tests belong to their owners. Their names appear only where they must, always with the mark and the owner's footnote, never in a page address, a title or the menu — and no page promises a score.
Nobody in any picture
Every picture is an empty prewar room between sessions — oak tables, sash windows, a radiator, plain notebooks — generated and labelled on the picture as an illustration. No child, no tutor, no screen and nothing anybody could read.

Mobile first, not mobile afterthought
Most of your visitors will see this version
Local service searches are overwhelmingly done on phones, so the phone layout is the one we design first and test hardest. Text stays readable without zooming, the phone number stays reachable with a thumb, and nothing needs a horizontal scroll.
58 indexable pages, each with its own title, description, structured data and a place in the sitemap. That is 58 chances to appear in a search instead of one.
Thirteen subject and test pages
Elementary, middle and high school pages, each with its subjects grade by grade
Reading, writing and English, math, science, homework help and study skills
The state tests, the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test, the Regents exams and the college admission tests
Each page with its tutors, its session lengths and their prices
Six tutors, each with a diary
A page per tutor: what they teach, at which grades, in which languages, and their week
No degree, licence or score claimed for invented people, and a page that says why
Three session lengths: forty minutes for the youngest, fifty-five, and eighty-five for timed practice
In the center or online, never recorded
Packages the way New York City has them
Sessions that never expire and packages that never renew by themselves
The city's cancellation notice printed word for word, and a refund worked out to the cent
One missed or late-cancelled session forgiven in each package
No sales tax, said beside the prices
Children, records and the drop-off
The booking form asks a child's first name, last initial and grade, and nothing about school, health or learning
Who may collect a child under 13, written down at the desk
Not child care, said plainly: no pickup from school, no camps, no care between sessions
How long each record is kept, and how to have it deleted
Twelve pages on what a center should not claim
'Raise your score, guaranteed', 'Certified teachers', 'Official test prep', 'Dyslexia specialists'
'We'll write the essay', 'After-school program with pickup', 'Use it or lose it', '50% off your first package'
Each is quoted as centers advertise it, and answered with the law and a source
A list of refusals, each linked to the page that gives its reasons
A journal of plain answers
What tutoring costs in Queens, choosing a college admission test, what is changing about the Regents, how often to see a tutor, online or in person, and helping with homework without doing it
Included — not an add-on
Session packages, tutors' diaries and family pages, and a staff desk
Six tutors, each with their own weekly shifts, subjects and grades. A family holds a balance of sessions by length, and each session it books takes a slot in one tutor's diary. The website, the e-mailed family page and the staff desk all read the same database, and the rules are written once for the page and once for the server, then checked against each other.
What your customers do
Reserve a package of sessions for a child's grade and subject, and get the family-page link by e-mail only
Book each session into the diary of a tutor who teaches that subject at that grade, at the center or online
Cancel a session up to twenty-four hours ahead and have it back, and read the tutor's note after every session
Cancel a package from the family page and see the refund the city's rule allows
What your staff control
Today's sessions in every tutor's diary, with the notes still to write
Record a payment at the desk and print the package terms with the city's notice
Process a package cancellation with its refund worked out to the cent
Book for a family at the desk, through the same rules as the website
Tutors see their own diary; the desk sees the center
What happens automatically
A reminder before each session, and a staff task when a refund falls due
A task when a quarter of a package's sessions in a row are missed
Two families reaching for the same tutor's slot at the same second produce one booking and one plain answer — a database lock, proved by racing them
No answer ever says whether an e-mail address already has a family page
The software runs on your own hosting and belongs to you. There is no monthly licence, no per-booking commission and no third party holding your customer list — which over a few years is usually worth more than the price of the website.
What $890 covers
Yours, not a copy of the demo
You get the same structure and design system with your business in it — your name, logo, colours, photographs, services, prices and locations, and every page rewritten for you. Two businesses starting from this design do not end up looking like each other.
Pages you do not need come out. Pages you need that are not there can be added at $90 each. The local SEO — titles, descriptions, structured data and the copy itself — is retargeted from Woodside to wherever you actually work.

Questions
About this design
Can families pay online?
Not in this demonstration. Packages are paid at the desk and the staff screens record the payment; before that, a family can book just its first session. Online payment brings in a payment provider and the city's rules on how the contract is given — a real conversation, and one we are happy to have.
Do sessions expire?
No. New York City's rule for lesson contracts makes expiring sessions a poor idea, and this design never expires them or renews a package by itself. Your own center can set different terms where the law allows; the software adapts.
Can one package be shared by brothers and sisters?
Yes. A package belongs to the family and carries a length, not a subject, so any child in the family who can book that length can use it, and each session says who it was for.
Can we name the tests we prepare for?
Yes, as this site does: with the owner's mark and footnote, never in your business name or page addresses, and never with a promised score.
Are the pictures of a real tutoring center?
No. Every picture on this demonstration was generated by a computer and says so on the picture. Your own rooms, photographed, replace them.
Packages become credits, credits become lessons in a named instructor's diary, and the balance is the sum of a ledger the student can read line by line — including the lines that did not go their way.
A reservation holds a real unit out of a real pool for a real date. The size estimator and the sales copy are generated from one volume table, so the calculator and the page cannot disagree.
A session is booked from the photographer's real calendar, a wedding date is held while the agreement is read, and proofs are chosen in a private gallery — with the copyright, the consent and the price rules written out the way New York law actually has them.
