Demonstration site. Woodside Nail Studio, LLC is a fictional business invented for this demo — every phone number on it is literally 000-000-0000. The website itself is entirely real and built exactly as yours would be.

Why this design works for a nail salon

Built for how your customers actually decide

Nail prices are comparison-shopped harder than almost anything else on a high street, and almost every salon website answers with “manicure from $25” and a telephone number. This design does the opposite: every service on the list carries its price AND the length of the appointment, and the price list is the main page rather than a link in a menu.

The lookbook is the other half. This is the most visual trade there is, so the finishes get their own gallery — French, chrome, ombre, cat eye, matte, glazed — with how long each one wears written on the tile. Every swatch is painted on loose tips rather than on a hand, which is what a real swatch rack is and which means the picture is about the finish rather than about somebody else’s hands.

The booking engine is the part worth looking at closely, because a salon asks a harder question than a clinic. A clinic books a fixed slot. A salon books a LENGTH THAT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU CHOSE — an express manicure is thirty minutes, a hard gel full set is a hundred and five, art on ten nails adds twenty-five more — and a pedicure needs one of the chairs as well as a person. So the form adds up the minutes in front of you, then goes looking for a window that long with both resources free.

  • The length is computed, not assumed

A gel manicure is an hour. A gel manicure with art on all ten nails and a French finish is an hour and thirty-five minutes, and the form offers you the times that fit the longer number. That is the difference between a salon running to time and a salon running forty minutes late by three on a Saturday.

  • Two resources, not one

Six technicians and three pedicure chairs. A pedicure needs both, so it can be refused with people standing free — and the refusal says so in words rather than “no availability”. No fixed-slot booking plugin can express that.

  • A price list with no “from” in it

Every line is the price you pay, whatever shape and whatever length. Same price for a short square and a long almond, because it is the same work. It is the page that wins the comparison a customer is actually making.

  • The lookbook is painted on loose tips

Every swatch is the finish and nothing else — no hands, no model, no borrowed skin tone. It is what a real swatch rack is, it photographs better, and the site says out loud why it was done that way.

  • The trust pages nobody writes

Single-use files binned in front of you. What a removal actually does to the nail underneath. Which nails will be refused, and that there is nothing to pay when they are. Thirteen pages of it, and it is what turns a browser into a booking.

Mobile first, not mobile afterthought

Most of your visitors will see this version

Local service searches are overwhelmingly done on phones, so the phone layout is the one we design first and test hardest. Text stays readable without zooming, the phone number stays reachable with a thumb, and nothing needs a horizontal scroll.

Every page, listed

What is actually on the site

40 indexable pages, each with its own title, description, structured data and a place in the sitemap. That is 40 chances to appear in a search instead of one.

The price list — twenty-two services, all with a length

  • Manicures · Pedicures · Acrylic and hard gel · Nail art · Repairs and removals · Hands and feet · Children
  • A price, a length and a “come back in” cadence on every single line
  • Eight add-ons, each saying what it adds to the TIME as well as to the price
  • Deep pages for the three things people search by name: gel manicure, builder gel, hard gel
  • Service structured data generated from the same source as the page

The lookbook and the room

  • Ten finishes with wear times — French, chrome, ombre, cat eye, matte, glazed, jade, red and more
  • Every swatch painted on loose tips, and a page that explains why
  • The room: six tables with extraction, three pedicure chairs, the sterilising bench
  • Six technician profiles with what each of them actually does all day

The pages that build trust

  • Hygiene, in detail — single-use files, steam-sterilised steel, a fresh liner every time
  • How long it lasts · Aftercare · When a set lifts · Why a fill is not a new set
  • What removal does to a nail · Allergies and sensitivities · Nails we will not work on
  • What a nail photograph does not show · What we do not offer · Cancelling and running late

The rest of the site

  • Groups and bridal · Gift cards · Your first visit · FAQ · Contact
  • Our story · The people here · The room · Careers · Press
  • Hours and directions · The neighbourhood · House policies
  • Access measured door width by door width, Terms, Privacy

Included — not an add-on

Appointment booking with a computed length

PHP and MySQL, written from scratch — no plugin, no monthly SaaS fee, no per-booking commission, no third party owning your client list. It runs on the same hosting as the website.

What your customers do

  • Pick the service and the add-ons FIRST, and watch the minutes and the price add up
  • The calendar then looks for a window that long — not for an hour
  • A pedicure also needs one of the chairs, so it can be unavailable when a manicure is not
  • Ask for a technician by name and see only the hours they actually work, lunch included
  • A refusal says which resource ran out: the person, or the chair
  • Confirm or cancel later from a signed link — no login, no password, no app
  • Groups of four or more become an enquiry rather than a booking, because that is the truth

What your staff control

  • The day’s diary with the length of every appointment, who is doing it and which chair
  • Take a telephone or walk-in booking through the same allocation, so it cannot double-book
  • Confirm, mark arrived, mark finished, mark a no-show, cancel with or without an e-mail
  • A fortnight ahead in booked MINUTES rather than booked appointments
  • “Due to come back” — everybody whose cadence has come round
  • A technician sees their own column only, and that restriction is enforced in the code

What happens automatically

  • Confirmation e-mail the moment an appointment is booked, with the length in it
  • Reminder the day before, sent by cron
  • A rebook prompt when the service’s own cadence comes round — once, and only if asked for
  • A fifteen-minute clean-down reserved after every appointment that nobody pays for
  • Two simultaneous bookings for the same window: one succeeds, the other is told honestly

The software runs on your own hosting and belongs to you. There is no monthly licence, no per-booking commission and no third party holding your customer list — which over a few years is usually worth more than the price of the website.

What $890 covers

Yours, not a copy of the demo

You get the same structure and design system with your business in it — your name, logo, colours, photographs, services, prices and locations, and every page rewritten for you. Two businesses starting from this design do not end up looking like each other.

Pages you do not need come out. Pages you need that are not there can be added at $90 each. The local SEO — titles, descriptions, structured data and the copy itself — is retargeted from Woodside to wherever you actually work.

  • Your domain name

First year included, registered in your name

Who this suits

A good fit if you run one of these

  • Nail salons and nail studios
  • Any salon whose prices are compared before the phone rings
  • Shops running late because a booking system sells hour slots to ninety-minute work
  • Beauty businesses where a service needs a room or a chair as well as a person

Not quite your trade? Designs adapt more easily than people expect — the structure matters far more than the industry it was written for. Tell us what you do and we will say honestly whether this one fits.

Questions

About this design

Our services are not the same as the demo’s.

Services are data, not code. Every one is a row with a name, a price, a length, whether it needs a chair, which skill it needs and how long until it wants seeing again. Adding, renaming or repricing one is a screen, and everything on the website that quotes it — the price list, the service pages, the structured data and the booking form — changes with it.

Can it handle add-ons that change the appointment length?

That is the whole point of it. Each add-on carries its own minutes and its own price and says which services it may attach to. The visitor sees the total being built, and the calendar searches for a window of exactly that length. It is the one thing an off-the-shelf booking plugin gets wrong.

We have pedicure chairs, or rooms, or a specific piece of equipment.

The engine holds a SET of resources for a window and every one of them has to be free. The demo uses three pedicure chairs against six technicians, so a pedicure can be refused while people are standing free. A wax room, a dryer, a shampoo bowl or one particular machine is the same shape.

What stops the same slot being sold twice?

A database transaction that locks the day it is deciding about and re-runs the whole allocation before committing — not a unique index, because “these two appointments overlap” cannot be expressed as one when the lengths differ. We tested it by firing simultaneous bookings at the same window: exactly one succeeded and the rest were told honestly that it had gone.

Do the staff get anything?

A day view with the length of every appointment, the technician and the chair; a fortnight ahead in booked minutes; a client list; and a “due to come back” queue driven by each service’s own cadence. A manager sees all of it and a technician sees their own column, because the notes box holds things clients would rather not share with the whole shop.

Is the video on the home page included?

Yes. The header loop is generated for your shop the same way the photographs are, and it sits behind a still poster so it never costs you anything in page speed — the poster is what the browser measures, and the loop starts after it.
